ResumeForge helps job seekers build professional resumes and cover letters. To do that, we process certain personal information — much of which you provide directly when creating a resume. This policy describes what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website and all related services (the "Service").

By using ResumeForge, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

02 What Data We Collect

Personal information you provide

This is the information you enter to build a resume, including your name, email address, phone number, location, work history, education, skills, and any other content you choose to add to your resume or cover letter.

Payment information

When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing details (such as plan, transaction status, and the last four digits of your card) but we do not collect or store your full payment-card data.

Usage data

We automatically collect technical and analytics data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs, and interactions with the Service.

Cookies and tracking pixels

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, and measure performance. See Section 8 for details and your choices.

03 How We Use Your Data

• To power the AI resume builder — generating, rewriting, and formatting your resume and cover-letter content.
• To process payments and manage your subscription through Stripe.
• To send transactional emails such as account confirmations, receipts, and important service notices.
• To provide support and respond to your requests.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Service through analytics and troubleshooting.
• Marketing emails (optional) — only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.

Our legal bases for processing (under GDPR) include performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

04 Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate ResumeForge, and only as needed:

• Stripe — payment processing. Your billing details are handled directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy.
• AI providers (Anthropic and/or OpenAI) — to generate and refine resume content. Please note that resume content you submit for AI assistance may be sent to these AI APIs for processing. We send only what is needed to perform the requested task.
• Netlify — website hosting and content delivery.
• Google Analytics (if enabled) — aggregated usage analytics.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of ResumeForge or others.

05 Data Retention Policy

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Resume content is kept so you can return and edit it. Billing records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes. When data is no longer needed — or upon a valid deletion request — we delete or anonymize it, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

06 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country with different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
